Looking to start a backyard flock, add a few birds or learn more about poultry? The new Poultry Hub at Maleny Farm Fest will bring poultry sales, displays and practical education together on Saturday, 21 November 2026.
Visitors can browse birds offered for sale, meet poultry enthusiasts and learn what to look for when choosing and caring for birds. An educational talk will explore judging criteria. Experts will be present giving beginners and experienced keepers the opportunity to build their knowledge and ask questions.
The Poultry Hub will also feature education materials, offering visitors a closer insight into this industry.Maleny Farm Fest coordinator Dr Theresa Craig said the Hub would connect people with both poultry and practical knowledge.
“Poultry can be an accessible starting point for people interested in producing some of their own food,” Dr Craig said. “We want visitors to learn about choosing suitable birds, caring for them well and understanding what makes a healthy, productive flock.”
Those wishing to sell birds please register below. People planning to purchase birds should bring cash, as poultry sales will be cash only.
The Poultry Hub is a new addition to Maleny Farm Fest, which attracted more than 1,500 visitors and over 80 exhibitors in 2025. This year’s theme, Innovation in Agriculture, builds on the event’s commitment to Educate. Equip. Empower.
With free entry, Maleny Farm Fest offers a full day of agricultural displays, speakers and hands-on activities for the community.
