Meet the next generation of leaders, advocates and changemakers.
This year’s Showgirl & Rural Ambassador participants are already making their mark — in agriculture, education, sport and community.
Maleny Show Society is proud to introduce Alexandra Haslam as a participant in the 2026 Showgirl & Rural Ambassador Awards.
A dedicated Year 11 student at Maleny State High School, Alexandra is already building a strong foundation for her future career in education through TAFE studies and practical school-based placements. Alongside her academic pursuits, she has demonstrated outstanding commitment to agriculture and equestrian sport, competing in pony club, dressage, and local agricultural shows.
Alexandra’s community involvement is extensive. She is an active member of Maleny Pony Club, Interact Club, and Trailblazers, and has represented her region in the Lions Youth of the Year competition. She has also volunteered with Rotary for several years, contributing to local events and initiatives.
Driven by a passion for youth engagement, Alexandra hopes to use the Showgirl platform to encourage young people to step into leadership roles and sustain the future of local shows and community events.

Maleny Show Society is pleased to welcome Isabelle Moore as a 2026 Showgirl And Rural Ambassador Awards participant.
Isabelle combines her studies with part-time work, where she has developed strong communication and teamwork skills. Her passion lies in agriculture, particularly livestock industries, where she has already gained hands-on experience through agricultural shows and cattle exhibiting.
With a clear career goal of becoming a veterinarian, Isabelle is committed to expanding her knowledge of agriculture and animal production. She also recognises the importance of building confidence and public speaking skills, both of which she hopes to strengthen through the Showgirl program.
Isabelle is eager to represent her community, promote agriculture in a relatable way, and inspire other young people to engage with rural industries.
Maleny Show Society is proud to present Kael Thompson as a participant in the 2026 Showgirl and Rural Ambassador Awards.
An elite para swimmer, Kael has represented Australia internationally over the past three years, competing across five countries and achieving outstanding results, including podium finishes at world-level events. Most recently, she secured gold medals at the Australian Open Championships in butterfly events.
Beyond the pool, Kael maintains strong ties to agriculture through her family’s cattle breeding operation. She has extensive experience in cattle showing and is passionate about mentoring younger competitors in junior judging and handling.

Maleny Show Society is delighted to introduce Keelee Thompson as a 2026 Showgirl & Rural Ambassador Awards participant.
A Year 11 student at Maleny State High School, Keelee is combining academic studies with vocational training in agriculture, while also working part-time. Her strong connection to agriculture is evident through her involvement in cattle showing, junior judging, and her family’s stud operation.
Keelee is passionate about improving livestock quality and gaining a deeper understanding of breeding and production systems. She also values the role agricultural shows play in education and community connection.
Through the Showgirl program, Keelee hopes to mentor younger participants and help bridge the gap between rural industries and the wider community, highlighting the importance of agriculture in everyday life.
From leadership to agriculture and community spirit, these young individuals represent the future of the Maleny Show and beyond — and this is just the beginning.
