Camping at the Maleny Showgrounds

Spring Blooms at the Maleny Showgrounds

A colourful day at the showgrounds

Spring well and truly arrived at the Maleny Showgrounds this year, as the [Maleny Garden Club]’s (link) Spring Fair filled the grounds with colour, scent and community spirit.

The Exhibition Shed and Main Pavilion were both full of blooming wonderful things. [Add highlights: flowers, plants, produce, crafts, stalls.] Visitors wandered between the displays, swapped growing tips with the people behind them, and plenty headed home with something new for the garden.

It was a day that showed off what the hinterland does best: generous people, a love of growing things, and a willingness to share both.

Spaces made for community

The Spring Fair is a great reminder of how well the showgrounds’ buildings work for community events. The Exhibition Shed and Main Pavilion are at the heart of the Maleny Show every year, and seeing them filled with spring colour shows just how versatile these spaces are.

The Maleny Show Society looks after the showgrounds so they can be used and enjoyed all year round, not just at Show time. Events run by local clubs and community groups are a big part of that, and the Maleny Garden Club’s Spring Fair is a wonderful example.

The Show Society out and about

Theresa and Clif from the Maleny Show Society were out and about over the day, chatting with visitors about our Youth programs and getting people excited for the 2027 Maleny Show.

Conversations like these matter. Every Show depends on people who are willing to have a go, whether that’s entering an exhibit, taking part in a competition or volunteering behind the scenes. Many of those journeys start with a friendly chat at an event like the Spring Fair.

Youth programs

Our Youth programs give young people a way to get involved with the Show and the community around it. If you know a young person who might be interested, we’d love to hear from you. [Find out more / link]

Looking ahead to 2027

Planning for the 2027 Maleny Show is already under way, led by our new management committee. There’s plenty more to share in the months ahead, so keep an eye on our news page and socials.

Thank you

A big thank you to the Maleny Garden Club for bringing the Spring Fair to the showgrounds, and to everyone who exhibited, volunteered, browsed and stopped by to say g’day.

Thank you also to our working partner Marsha Fotografie for capturing the day. You’ll find more of her photos on our socials.

We’ll see you at the showgrounds again soon, with Muscle on the Mountain on Sunday 1 November and Farm Fest on Saturday 21 November.
